Makers of Good
Great things happen when amazing brands come together. Leesa, a mission-driven premium mattress company, partnered with Hudson’s Bay, Canada’s premiere department store with the goal of improving the mental health of Canadians, one sleep at a time.
Over the next year, the pair will donate at least 500 mattresses to individuals and families served by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) across the country. To kick off this initiative, David Wolfe, Leesa’s Co-Founder, and Danny Abramowitz, VP of Home for Hudson’s Bay VP, delivered the first round of mattresses and a $25,000 cash donation to a CMHA-affiliated permanent housing residence in Toronto.
Recipients of these new mattresses included Marilyn, a grandmother to 102 grandkids, and Laura, a grandmother who has cared for her granddaughter for the last 10 years. “She is anxiously awaiting a new mattress,” she revealed.
As a celebration of the growing relationship between the two organizations, this act underscores their dual commitment to making a difference in the world. A Certified B Corporation, this concept is baked into Leesa’s business model and their commitment to being “Makers of Good” in the world; since its inception, Leesa has focused on social responsibility, with a commitment to donate one mattress for every 10 sold. So far, Leesa has supplied over 35,000 mattresses to over 1,000 non-profit organizations across North America and Europe. Meanwhile, Hudson’s Bay continues to put philanthropy first through the HBC Foundation.
In working alongside one another, these purposeful partners have recognized the role that rest plays in mental well-being. Beyond that, they’ve proven the true worth of corporate collaboration: making a difference in the greater community.
